Origin story

Cool ideas are a trap. Ugly workarounds pay rent.

In September 2026 a builder named Matheus put it plainly on X: the signal worth hunting is not “cool app idea.” It is someone explaining the ugly workaround they run every week.

“We pay a guy to copy this between spreadsheets” is way more interesting than “cool app idea.”

Kludge is a classifieds desk for those rituals. You file the workaround with the tools, the hours, and the person who still does it by hand. Other people mark “aye” and “I’d pay.” The board turns that filing into a product brief: name, wedge, MVP, pricing, and the reasons it might still be a feature instead of a company.

No account required. No feed algorithm. Filings and votes stay in this browser until you sign in with Over9000; then they live in your account and follow you between devices. The twelve seed cases are composites of the same shape of pain — invoices hunted in Gmail, demos retyped into a CRM, prior auths stuck to a monitor.

If you are about to spend a month “vibe-coding a SaaS,” file the workaround first. If nobody would pay to kill it, you just saved a month.
